FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • No, I do free consultations in person or virtually. Please see my How to Book page to schedule a consultation.

  • Yes, you can bring one guest!

  • Yes, you can use numbing cream, but be sure to use it correctly. Apply a generous amount to the area you're getting tattooed and wrap it with plastic wrap one hour before your appointment. Make sure to leave it on for the full hour - it's okay to show up with it on to your appointment. My favorite brand of numbing cream is Uber Numb.

Some people are allergic to numbing cream. If you have sensitive skin, do a patch test first.

  • Wear something comfortable that provides easy access to the area you're getting tattooed. If you're getting your shoulder tattooed, wear a tank top. If you're getting your leg tattooed, wear shorts, etc. Bikinis (with ties) or zip-up hoodies are a great option for tattoos in more intimate areas, like your hip or chest. The tattooing process can be messy, so make sure to wear something you won't mind getting some ink on.

  • I share custom designs with clients when they arrive at their appointments. I'm happy to make any changes you may request on the day of, and work with you to create a design you love!

  • I don't tattoo palms or inner fingers. Tattoos in these areas do not age well and require frequent touch-ups.

  • I don't do white ink only tattoos or realism.

  • I can do color tattoos, but it's not my specialty.

  • Absolutely, yes!

  • I do coverups on a case by case basis, depending on the complexity of the design being covered. Book a consultation so we can discuss your specific situation.

  • No way! Please - don't do this. A fresh tattoo is an open wound. Submerging a fresh tattoo in a body of water can cause infection. Besides ruining your new tattoo, it can also be dangerous. Wait 2-3 weeks before going swimming after getting tattooed.

  • Tanning with a fresh tattoo will cause irritation and fading. Once your tattoo is healed (2-3 weeks), you can tan, but please use sunscreen to protect your skin and your tattoo.

  • For the first 5-7 days, avoid heavy exercise that will make you sweat or irritate your new tattoo. If you do exercise with a fresh tattoo, make sure to clean it afterward.
