Tattoo Aftercare
After I finish your tattoo, it will be wrapped. Remove the wrap after about two hours.
Wash your tattoo 2-3x a day with antibacterial soap. I like to use Dial Complete because it has no fragrance and is hypoallergenic.
After washing your tattoo, pat dry with a clean paper towel and apply a THIN layer of Aquaphor ointment. Using thin layers is important; otherwise, you can clog your pores and slow the healing process.
After about 4-5 days of healing, switch to using an unscented body lotion to moisturize your tattoo. Lubiderm, Cetaphil, and Aveno are all good options.
In the first few days of healing your tattoo, it may feel warm, swollen, and bloody. This is normal in the beginning of the healing process. As healing continues, your tattoo will feel dry and itchy and may peel and scab. This is also normal.
No swimming, tanning, or baths for two weeks after getting tattooed, these put your new tattoo at risk for infection.
For the first 5-7 days, avoid heavy exercise that will make you sweat or irritate your new tattoo. If you do exercise with a fresh tattoo, make sure to clean it afterward.
I do free touch-ups on any of my tattoos if needed, and if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me at juliagrivastattoos@gmail.com.
Thank you for trusting me with your tattoo :)
